🤖 Perplexity launches AI teammates that can work on projects without constant instructions

Perplexity has introduced Teammates, a new feature that lets users assign work to multiple AI agents that can collaborate, manage projects, and keep tasks moving, even when users aren't actively working with them.

The Shift:

• Users can create multiple AI Teammates and assign each a different responsibility, allowing them to work on separate projects simultaneously instead of handling tasks one at a time.
• Teammates remember previous work, project details, and user preferences, so they can pick up where things left off without needing the same instructions again.
• AI Teammates can work together and communicate with coworkers through Slack, making it easier to coordinate tasks, follow up on updates, and track progress.
• Teammates can run recurring tasks automatically and continue working in the background, with access available through Perplexity's Max subscription at $200 per month.

Perplexity is making AI agents feel more like coworkers than traditional chatbots. Instead of asking an AI to complete one task at a time, users can assign ongoing responsibilities to different Teammates and have them work together. • Users can follow conversations through live transcripts, while the bot identifies itself as a virtual assistant and uses temporary phone numbers to place calls.
• The feature is available to paid users, who remain legally responsible for calls made by their bots, while usage limits remain in place due to the high operating costs.

Grok Bot is making AI assistants more useful beyond the chat window by handling real phone conversations. Instead of waiting on hold or explaining the same issue to customer support, users can let the bot manage the call and step in only when needed.
