🍎 Apple opens Siri AI to all developers with custom actions and multi-step skills

Apple has announced a new Developer Preview that lets developers integrate their apps directly with Siri AI, allowing users to complete tasks across third-party apps through natural language instead of navigating each app manually.

The Shift:

  • Developers can now connect custom app actions to Siri AI through App Intents, enabling users to check deliveries, book reservations, place orders, and perform other tasks simply by asking.
  • Apple introduced new skills that let Siri AI combine multiple actions into a single workflow, using personal context and on-screen awareness to understand more complex requests.
  • Siri AI is expanding across Apple's own apps, including Mail, Calendar, Photos, Safari and Files, allowing users to find past information or organize files through conversational commands.
  • The Developer Preview is available with the iOS 27.3, iPadOS 27.3, macOS 27.3 and visionOS 27.3 betas, while App Store submissions for these integrations are expected to open in spring 2027.
  • Siri AI currently supports six languages but remains unavailable on iOS, iPadOS and watchOS in the EU, while Apple plans to introduce paid access for expanded usage of certain AI features.

Apple is making Siri AI more useful by letting developers connect their apps and build actions users can complete with a simple request. Instead of opening several apps to get something done, users could increasingly rely on Siri to handle the steps for them. However, these integrations are still in developer testing.

🤹How to find the exact colors that make you look your best using ChatGPT

Stylists charge hundreds of dollars for a color analysis. Two selfies and one prompt get you the same report, plus a shopping filter you keep forever.

1. Take two selfies, not one - Face a window, no filter, no heavy makeup. For the second shot, hold a sheet of white paper beside your face so ChatGPT can correct the lighting.

2. Get the analysis - “Using both photos, with the white paper as a lighting reference, work out my undertone, contrast level and season in the 12-season system. Show my power colors, best neutrals, accent colors and the colors that wash me out. Include metals and hair directions. Be honest, not flattering.”

3. Pressure-test it - “How confident are you? What’s my runner-up season, and what would change your answer?”

4. Save it permanently - “Save my season, undertone and palette to memory.” From now on, snap anything in a store and ask: “In my palette?”

5. Audit your closet - Upload photos of what you wear most: “Sort these into keep, wear away from my face, and stop buying. Then list 5 pieces to add next.”

🛡️ CrowdStrike launches AI kill switch to stop rogue AI agents

CrowdStrike has introduced AI Kill Switch, a new security feature that lets organizations cut off AI agents when they behave dangerously or become compromised, giving security teams a way to intervene before an agent causes further damage.

The Shift:

  • AI Kill Switch is now available in CrowdStrike Falcon Guardian, allowing security teams to block an agent's access to the AI models powering its decisions and actions through connected AI gateways.
  • The switch disconnects agents from their AI models rather than shutting down the models themselves, with human administrators controlling activation and each intervention recorded for auditing.
  • CrowdStrike's Falcon AI Gateway is now generally available at no additional cost, helping organizations manage AI model access, security policies, credentials and usage across different environments.
  • CrowdStrike plans to expand the Kill Switch across endpoints, cloud systems, SaaS apps and browsers, allowing security teams to terminate rogue agents, revoke permissions and block unauthorized activity.
  • CrowdStrike is also acquiring Fiddler AI and Dreadnode for a reported $495 million, while introducing beta protection for Claude Cowork as it expands its AI security capabilities.

As businesses give AI agents more freedom to work across their systems, they also need a reliable way to stop them when something goes wrong. CrowdStrike's Kill Switch gives security teams that control, starting with blocking AI model access, with broader shutdown capabilities planned for future releases.
