🏛️ OpenAI plans major AI policy push ahead of new U.S. Congress

OpenAI is preparing a major policy and public relations campaign following the US midterm elections, aiming to influence how Washington regulates artificial intelligence, addresses public concerns, and approaches the industry's rapid expansion.

The Shift:

  • OpenAI plans to propose mandatory safeguards for powerful AI models, introducing the concept of AI "speed limits" to ensure humans retain control over increasingly capable systems.
  • The company wants to rebrand data centers as "AI compute campuses", proposing community agreements, local economic benefits and legislation giving residents more influence over infrastructure projects.
  • OpenAI is developing proposals to help workers adapt to AI-driven disruption, expanding access to education, professional training and opportunities for starting and growing businesses.
  • The company will push for US leadership in international AI standards, while positioning its proposals ahead of the 2028 presidential election, when AI regulation could become a major political issue.

OpenAI's strategy comes as the technology industry prepares for potentially tougher congressional scrutiny. By emphasizing AI safety, economic opportunities and community benefits, the company hopes to shape future regulations while addressing growing public concerns about AI's impact on jobs and infrastructure.

See how competitors are selling inside ChatGPT

You probably know what competitors say on their websites. But what message are they putting in front of people asking ChatGPT for help?

Seeing their pitch can help you decide how to position your own offer.

The AirOps ChatGPT Ad Library lets you search by brand name or domain to see competitor ad messaging and the prompts where those ads appeared.

With 6,000+ brands listed, there’s plenty to explore before you write your own brief.

See how a competitor positions its offer in a specific conversation. Then consider what would make yours worth a click.

Use what you find to choose a stronger messaging angle and give your team a concrete reason to test it.

Before you spend on your first test, see how competitors are making their pitch.

🧐How to Install 5 ChatGPT Codes That Work in Every Single Chat

Typing /bodyguard only works when ChatGPT knows what it means. Define the codes once and they fire every time, on any plan, including free.

1. Save the codes - Open Settings > Personalization > Custom instructions and paste:

“When my message starts with one of these codes, follow its rule. /bodyguard: check the link, text, email or contract I paste for scams and red flags, rate the risk, and tell me what to do next. /flip: identify the item in my photo, estimate its current resale range and tell me where to list it. SHOWME: answer as a chart, table or diagram, not paragraphs. /interview: act as the hiring manager for the job I paste and ask one tough question at a time, scoring each answer. TRIPLECHECK: verify your answer three separate ways before replying and flag anything uncertain.”

2. Test the most valuable one first - Next time a “your package is on hold” text lands, paste it after /bodyguard.

3. Stack them - “/flip SHOWME” with a photo returns resale prices as a comparison table.

4. Point TRIPLECHECK at live sources - For anything recent, add: “TRIPLECHECK, search current sources.”

If a code gets ignored, start a new chat and confirm your instructions saved.

🛰️ Google runs AI in space for the first time with Project Suncatcher

Google has announced the first successful AI response generated by a data center-class TPU in orbit, marking a major milestone for Project Suncatcher, its ambitious initiative to explore building AI data centers in space.

The Shift:

  • Google's prototype satellite, launched October 1, successfully ran its Gemma 4 AI model in orbit, generating a space-themed haiku that was transmitted back to Earth.
  • The AI-generated poem was received as the satellite passed over Svalbard, Norway, confirming that Google's TPU hardware could execute machine learning workloads in space.
  • Power remains a major limitation, with the satellite reportedly able to operate only one of its four TPU chips at a time, in bursts lasting approximately 20 minutes.
  • Google plans to launch two interconnected satellites in 2027, testing laser communication links that could eventually allow multiple spacecraft to work together on AI computing tasks.

Project Suncatcher explores whether space-based AI infrastructure could eventually use abundant solar energy to support growing computing demands. However, Google must first prove its chips can withstand radiation, extreme temperatures and power constraints before orbital AI data centers become practical.

Imagine beating a month’s email revenue with one send

You’d probably double-check the numbers.

Enflow Digital did exactly that for a skincare client ahead of BFCM. One plain-text email sent through Omnisend to 1,676 recipients generated nearly $18,000, beating the previous month’s broad-audience campaigns combined.

Omnisend helped the team find the right customers to send it to. Its segmentation and MCP capabilities let them uncover purchase patterns in minutes.

Co-founder Karolina shares how they pulled it off with Omnisend, from choosing the audience to making the offer worth opening. Worth a read (or a watch) before you hit send on your own BFCM campaigns.

New to Omnisend? It's an email and SMS marketing platform for ecommerce used by more than 150,000 brands, generating an average of $79 for every $1 spent. Migration is free and takes up to five business days.
