3. Evidence of unauthorized training - According to the complaint, Anthropic previously admitted to using Reddit data, with its Claude chatbot often referencing subreddit posts in its responses. Reddit asserts this is clear proof that its content was used to train Anthropic’s models. 

This suit follows similar lawsuits filed by The New York Times, authors, and music publishers over AI model training on copyrighted content. With Anthropic facing mounting scrutiny and OpenAI’s Sam Altman owning an 8.7% stake in Reddit, the case could expose deeper rivalries in the AI race.
