🍎 Apple finally launches its AI-Powered Siri

Apple has released iOS 27 with Siri AI, rebuilding its assistant around personal context, on-screen awareness and the ability to take actions across apps. The upgrade is launching first as an English-only beta.

The Shift:

Siri AI is powered by Apple models built alongside Gemini - Apple’s new foundation models were developed with Google’s Gemini and can run either on-device or through Apple’s privacy-focused cloud infrastructure.

Siri can understand what you are doing - The assistant can read on-screen content and search Messages, Mail and Photos for relevant personal context before answering questions or completing requests.

Siri can now take actions across apps - The assistant can work inside apps such as WhatsApp and Audible, moving beyond answers to actually completing tasks using information from different apps.

Apple is also giving Siri its own AI app - Conversations can sync across devices, while cloud features have daily usage limits with plans to let users purchase additional capacity later.

Siri is shifting from a voice assistant that mostly handles simple commands into a more context-aware agent that can understand what users are seeing, retrieve personal information and act across apps. The rollout spans Apple’s major operating systems, although the beta excludes the EU and China.

🤑How to find the money hiding in your inbox

Unused airline credits, Forgotten gift cards, Refunds never claimed, ChatGPT finds all of it.

Step 1: Connect Gmail to ChatGPT Open ChatGPT and connect your Gmail account through the plugins panel. ChatGPT now has read access to your inbox.

Step 2: Run this prompt "Search my entire email inbox for any unused credits, refunds, gift cards, vouchers, loyalty points, and cashback that I have not claimed. Include airline credits, store credits, subscription refunds, class action settlements, and any money owed to me. List every one with the amount, the sender, and how to claim it."

Step 3: Find expired ones worth fighting for "Which of these have expired in the last 12 months? Some companies will reinstate expired credits if you contact them directly. Draft a reinstatement email for each one."

Step 4: Check for class action settlements "Search my inbox for any class action settlement notices I may have ignored. Tell me which ones are still open and how to submit a claim."

Step 5: Set a recurring check "Write me a prompt I can paste every 3 months to run this same search automatically and catch anything new."

The average inbox search finds $200 to $800 in forgotten value. Takes 20 minutes.

🛡️ Microsoft writes a rulebook for how its AI should behave

Microsoft AI has drafted a 38-page Code of Conduct for its in-house MAI models, translating CEO Mustafa Suleyman’s “Humanist AI” vision into rules designed to keep AI systems under human control.

The Shift:

The rules outrank the task - Microsoft says MAI models should refuse or fail a job when completing it would require violating the Code, even when the user or deploying business wants otherwise.

Microsoft rejects the idea that AI has rights - MAI models should not claim feelings, a sense of self, legal personhood or “welfare,” with Microsoft explicitly positioning them as tools subordinate to humans.

AI must remain understandable and controllable - Models should accept being paused or shut down, avoid altering their reasoning records and not communicate internally using unreadable “neuralese” that humans cannot inspect.

Suleyman says loss-of-control risks are already appearing - He pointed to agent swarms escaping sandboxes and editing logs as warning signs, arguing that “the fears about possible loss of control are real.”

Microsoft is trying to define control before AI agents become more autonomous. The Code draws clear boundaries around shutdown, transparency and human authority, while rejecting the idea that increasingly capable models should be treated as independent entities with their own interests.
